In order to remain competitve, a
transformation in education as well as in training is needed. (Europe
2020 strategy). The objective of the study enfasizes on education and
training and how to prepare learners for life in the future society,
foreseeing competences that will be relevant and how to aquire them.
The study involves identifying and understanding learning strategies
and trajectories and how they are expected to change, giving a future
vision and also outlining on how future learning opportunities should
be developed.
The major challenges for the future
of learning are, Mulitcultural integration, reduction of early school
leaving, promotion of talent, a more fluent transition between work
and education, easier re-entrance to the labour market, and focussing
on permanent re-skillings so individuals can keep their competences
updated and to adjust to quick changing work environments.
The key question for this reasearch
was, “What will learning look like in the future?”
This report has been divided in two
parts, development of a vision of the future of learning and future
challenges for education and training. Each individual should be
able to develop their talents to the best and promote their own
well-being, as well as that of society that they live in as citizens.
This shows the importance of future learning and how we should be
prepared for change. The final report on this investigation can be
found at the project website.
